WE are off to a great beginning! Saturday, January 14, 2012 was my first classes of the year. To my surprise Beginner Sewing 101 was a full class of 8 wonderful students. The following class at 12:30 was Sewing 102, which three student from the beginner class signed up for as well as a new student. I was so excited that everyone was catching the sewing & creative bug. It is wonderful to meet so many beautiful people of all ages. To hear about what or who encouraged them to want to learn to sew.
Beginner Sewing 101 we covered all of the fundamentals of the sewing machine and practiced sewing. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to complete the project - IPOD cover. So they are invited back on a Friday evening to complete it. The project was a trial & new addition to the class. I wanted to test adding a project to see if time allowed or if I should continue to teach the class without a project. Feedback is welcome.
Sewing 102 went well. A lot was learned about reading patterns, how to correct mistakes and how to stay encouraged. Everyone basically finished there lounge pants and they all turned out fantastic. The fabric choices were wonderful.
We were so busy in both classes I forgot to take pictures. I did ask everyone to send me a picture of the lounge pants. There homework was to try them on and hem there pants.
Needless to say I went home happy and tired. Thank you everyone for a wonderful Saturday doing what I have a passion for.
