I can make that!

How many times have you been in a clothing or housewares shop and said "I know I could make that if I knew how to sew."  Well you know what? you can.  If you know how to sew, you can make that pillow you want in just the right shade of blue and actually hem the pants you never wear because they have always been a little too long.

Sewing can be therapeutic, like so many crafts, it's a way to keep your hands busy, feel good about making something yourself and have fun, which is really the most important thing. Sewing wasn't my first choice of craft or hobby Punch Needle was.  I had a very dramatic experience in my early  20's and this was one of the ways I coped with a stressful season of my life.  But when I think back schools offered creative outlets for student.  Our art, gym, home-economics classes met weekly just about everyday thru out the year.  In addition to this, my mother taught us how to crochet, sew, macrame.  I encourage you to try a craft, take a class and make some time to create something beautiful for yourself or to gift someone.

The below link is an article about:  Tough times help fuel the surge of interest in sewing.
